Mohamed Salah compared to Cristiano Ronaldo but not for good reason

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was once again criticized following his side’s victory over Palace on Saturday as he was noticed making theatrics to win penalty. The Egyptian won a questionable penalty in last week’s 1-0 win over Brighton before again looking to win a spot-kick in the 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace. And pundit Tony Cascarino has slammed Salah, comparing him to Ronaldo for his alleged tendency to dive. "He has crossed the line when it comes to his diving,” Cascarino wrote for The Times. “There have been a few contentious incidents with Salah winning penalties this season but on Saturday, in Liverpool's win against Palace, he blatantly dived in the penalty area. "It seems as though there is an added ruthlessness in his game, which is why he is crossing into doing whatever it takes to win games. "Perhaps it stems from the pressure that Liverpool players potentially feel in terms of winning a trophy this season and if so, Salah certainly won't be the first star name willing to cheat to gain an advantage. “Cristiano Ronaldo's willingness to go to ground easily in the area only increased as his career progressed." Chris Sutton believes Salah is at risk of costing Liverpool the title with his diving. “Every time Mohamed Salah dives, he risks costing Liverpool the Premier League title,” Sutton wrote in his Daily Mail column. “His tumble against Crystal Palace was the second time in the last month that Salah has gone down too easily. “He won a penalty against Newcastle on Boxing Day after going to ground theatrically following the slightest of touches from Paul Dummett. “If he keeps diving, he risks being hit with a two-game FA ban. Liverpool only need to slip up twice to put Manchester City back in the title driving seat. “Without Salah's firepower, would Liverpool have won the topsy-turvy game against Palace? This match proved that Klopp needs his main man available for every game.”
