6 Everton players whose contracts are expiring in near future

Six Everton players' contracts are expiring in the next 18 months and here is the list of the players and also the rundown of what is most likely to happen next. Oumar Niasse Getty Images Niasse's contract is set to expire this summer - 2020. The 29-year-old has made just one substitute appearance this term while under the guidance of interim manager Duncan Ferguson. After a rollercoaster four-years at Goodison Park, it is almost guaranteed he will leave in the next six months. However, if not, Niasse will be free to leave at the expiration of his contract in the summer. Cuco Martina Getty Images Martina, alongside Niasse, will probably leave, as his contract expires in the end of the campaign. He last made an appearance for the Toffees in March 2018 and has spent time on loan at Stoke City and Feyenoord. The full-back is also available this month but will find himself available on a free transfer at the end of the season. Maarten Stekelenburg Getty Images Stekelenburg has lately regained his position as Jordan Pickford's understudy as summer-signing Jonas Lossl dropped out of the squad. The goalkeeper has not featured in any Premier League game since 2017. He may depart this summer, as his contract comes to end and Everton are likely to let him leave and find a new back-up or promote Joao Virginia, who is set to return from his loan spell at Reading. Leighton Baines Getty Images Baines is contracted with the club until the end of the season and has featured in 400 appearances for the Toffess since moving to Goodison Park from Wigan Athletic in 2007. He has deputised for Lucas Digne several times this season and scored in the Carabao Cup exit to Leicester City. Despite being an Everton icon, the left-back may depart from the club, as  Carlo Ancelotti looking to rebuild the squad. But he could extend his playing career elsewhere or become a valued member of the club's coaching staff. Theo Walcott Getty Images Walcott's contract is set to expire next summer - in 2021, however Everton will be hoping to refresh their attacking options and Walcott could make space for new signings. The 30-year-old winger arrived at Goodison Park under Sam Allardyce and has since worked under Marco Silva, Duncan Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti. Morgan Schneiderlin Getty Images Schneiderlin, alike Walcott,  is contracted with the club until the summer of 2021. The 30-year-old midfielder has struggled for form since his move from Manchester United and was mocked by Everton supporters during a Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace in 2018. Schneiderlin may well consider a summer move but his time on Merseyside is almost certain to conclude in the next 18-months. Source- Liverpool Echo
