Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez has described Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as a “great coach”.
The Reds and the Nerazzurri are set to face each other in the Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday.
Martinez was reportedly on the Reds’ radar few years ago, and links surfaced again ahead of the January window.
“Lautaro Martinez is one of the most exciting strikers in the world, probably,” Klopp told the Liverpool media team in December after the Reds drew Inter in the last 16.

“I’m happy to hear him say that, and I say thank you,” he said.
“Klopp is a great coach. He will certainly prepare his team well for this match.
“We have to do well, hurt them, and move forward.”
