Newcastle United are interested in signing Leicester City star James Maddison.
The Magpies have made two bids for the Foxes' man during the summer transfer window, the second one worth £50 million, as per Sky Sports.
The report from Northern Echo claims Maddison remains Newcastle's 'top target" ahead of the January transfer window. Eddie Howe's side are likely to offer at least £60 million for the player's services.
Earlier this year, Danny Murphy has opened up on Maddison's potential move to St. James' Park, saying:
“He’s a terrific player. He gives (Newcastle) something they haven’t got. He’s one of the most creative players in the Premier League.
“He makes things happen, he’s courageous on the ball. He’s got a great eye for a pass. I like Maddison because he plays free. He never hides away, he’s happy making mistakes to try and make things happen.
“He’d be a really good signing.”
