Abel Sanchez, Gennady Golovkin's former head coach has spoken out on the reasons why Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez avoids third fight against Triple 'G'.
Sanchez believes Mexican boxer could have been taken personally the criticism he got from Golovkin's team before the second fight. Abel told Canelo to not use Mexican style and not to run like in the first fight.
“I think that we have said - we as in when I was with Gennadiy - our team said a lot of things that maybe he is taking personal but that is the game and how you build things up. I hope that they fight again. They had good fights the first two times,” Sanchez told Boxingscene.
Golovkin's former coach also believes that Alvarez may not want third fight with Triple 'G' as he could have better and more attractive options.
“If that is the case Canelo has a lot of avenues he can go down where he doesn’t really need Gennadiy but he is taking a big leap in Kovalev and a big leap in say Callum Smith. Those are tough fights but he is a young man who wants to be tested," he added.
