Alan Shearer issues honest verdict on Liverpool star Ibrahima Konate's display

Alan Shearer has included Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate in his Premier League Team of the Week column. The 22-year-old made his third Liverpool appearance on Sunday – and only his second Premier League outing, against Manchester United. The Reds celebrated a thrashing 5-0 win over the Red Devils, and Konate's partnership with Virgil van Dijk also provided with a clean sheet, as Shearer heaped praise on the Frenchman.

“Liverpool’s summer signing kept Cristiano Ronaldo and co quiet in a superb performance alongside Virgil van Dijk. Rock-solid,” Shearer said.
