Alan Shearer has claimed Jose Mourinho got it wrong after he confronted Jurgen Klopp following Liverpool's dramatic win over Tottenham. Liverpool beat Tottenham with a 2-1 score at Anfield and following the game, Mourinho approached Klopp, with the two involved in a tense-looking interaction. Asked what he had told Klopp, Mourinho said: “I told him the best team lost. He disagreed. That's his opinion. We missed the chances and had the game under control. "A draw would be a bad result so you can imagine how we feel with a defeat. Very good performance and some mistake with things to improve. A very unfair result.” Klopp hit back at Mourinho's jibe and Shearer has backed up the Liverpool manager's sentiments, telling Coral: “I wouldn’t go along with Jose’s view that the best team lost. “I wouldn’t go along with Jose’s view that the best team lost. What I will say is, it was a fantastic game of football. Liverpool were much the better team in the first half. They dominated possession. Spurs had one shot on target which was Son’s magnificent goal. “I thought Liverpool were fantastic, particularly in the first half. They have that fantastic record at Anfield and they were desperate not to give that up. The second goal was a brillaint corner in from Robertson and a bullet of header from Firmino.” Shearer believes Tottenham are still a serious contender for a long awaited top-flight title. He added: “Although they were beaten, Tottenham are very much still in the title race and I think Jose believes that too. That is why he was so irate after the game. They are not going to go away and they will be in the hunt come April and May.”
