Alan Shearer sends warning to Mason Greenwood over first-team pressures

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer believes Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood deserves to be in the first-team squad but has warned the youngster not give way to the celebrity pressures. While the Red Devils players such as Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba were missing, Greenwood had the opportunity to impress with his game. Now the English has another chance to sparkle during the match against Arsenal. Shearer has given some advice to Greenwood ahead of Monday’s match. He wrote in his column for The Sun: "Greenwood was always going to get his chance somewhere along the season, but United have struggled so it’s not exactly like he is going into a great team. It’s a huge opportunity for him to stake a claim and I have no doubt he will relish it. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken very highly of his finishing and the two he has scored have been decent goals. He will enjoy being talked about in such a complementary way – it’s what you want. Only time will tell if he needs to be taken out of the team for a spell."
