Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has thanked Liverpool fans after finally making his return to action from injury.
The midfielder has missed over a year of football after damaging knee ligaments, but came on as a substitute in Liverpool’s 5-0 win against Huddersfield on Friday night.
Anfield gave Oxlade-Chamberlain an incredible reception when he replaced Daniel Sturridge for the final 15 minutes and the Englishman sent an emotional message to them.
He said on Instagram: "367 days later… I can’t tell you how good it feels to be back.
"Thank you to everyone who helped to get me back on the pitch, all of the staff at the club and my team-mates too. Also a big thank you to you, the fans, for supporting me in some of my darkest times as a player. The reception I got tonight is something I’ll remember for life. Thank you."
Liverpool have just two league games left to play this campaign.
