Family is the most important thing in a human's life and babies are the biggest motivation and inspiration for all of us. 2020 was a hectic year for all the people from around the world because of the COVID-19 and football players had a chance to spend more time with their loved ones. Some of those stars didn't waste the time and "scored goals". Here are football stars who became fathers in 2021.
David de Gea
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea and his girlfriend Edurne Garcia announced the birth of their first child, Yanay on March 4. They both posted a picture on their Instagram accounts of their son's hand along with a caption which read: "Yanay 4•3•21" along with a love heart emoji.
Alisson Becker
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is a huge rival for David de Gea on the pitch and he didn't lose his positions even off the pitch. Alisson wife Natalia has given birth to a son. The 28-year-old was delighted to show off his newborn baby. He was their third child following the birth of daughter Helena in 2017 and son Matteo in 2019.
Antoine Griezmann
Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann and his wife gave birth to their third child together in April. Alba Griezmann is the third child of Griezmann to be born on the same day, with all three being born on 8 April in 2016, 2019 and 2021. What a coincidence for the World Cup winner.
Matteo Guendouzi
Arsenal loanee Matteo Guendouzi, who is currently on loan at Hertha Berlin, was delighted to welcome the package of pleasure as he made the big announcement on his social media page. Guendouzi and his wife, Mae Rfsk, have been blessed with a beautiful daughter named Mayleen.
Patrice Evra
Manchester United star Patrice Evra definitely "love this game" of parenthood. Evra and his fiancée, Danish model Margaux Alexandra, who have welcomed their first baby together on May 3. The couple are parents of a son, Lilas Latyr Evra.
Granit Xhaka
Arsenal star Granit Xhaka has welcomed his second child with his wife Leonita Lekaj on April 24. He announced the birth on Instagram and wrote: “I no longer just have one beautiful princess, now I have two. Laneya Xhaka 24/04/2021.” Xhaka has been married to Leonita since 2017 and she gave birth to their first daughter, Ayana, in 2019.
Diogo Jota
Liverpool striker Diogo Jota has welcomed their son, a baby named Dinis on February 9. The 24-year-old Portuguese international took to Twitter to announce the birth of the baby. Sharing a lovely photo of his partner Rute Cardoso holding their newborn's hand, he wrote: "And we are already 3. Together forever. Proud of you Ru."
Frank Lampard
Chelsea sacked Frank Lampard in January but that didn't affect his mood for the year. Frank and Christine announced the birth of their son on March 15, naming him Frederick (Freddie) George Lampard. Their first child was a girl called Patricia, who was born back in September 2018.
Phil Foden
2021 could be the best year in Manchester City star Phil Foden's life. Success in the Premier League and Champions League accompanied by the birth of the second child. The England star became a father for the first time at age 18. He and his wife Rebecca Cooke had little Ronnie in January 2019. The midfielder has told friends they are having a baby girl. The arrival is expected in late summer or early autumn.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Liverpool player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and his wife, little Mix's Perrie Edwards have revealed they are expecting their first child. The singer posted a photo of her midriff to Instagram with the caption: "So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate. Me + Him = You. We can't wait to meet you baby Ox!"
