Andy Murray reacted on Instagram after Ada Hegerberg was asked to twerk on stage

Ada Hegerberg won the first Women’s Ballon d’Or award on Monday but her special moment was tainted by co-host Martin Solveig. Solveig, a French DJ, asked the Lyon and Norway striker during the presentation: “Do you know how to twerk?” Hegerberg simply responded: “No.” https://twitter.com/skekky_/status/1069698627436720128 He later apologised but he’s still faced a great deal of criticism. Andy Murray reacted passionately on social media, claiming that the incident highlights the concerning fact that sexism is still prevalent in Sports. “Another example of the ridiculous sexism that still exists in sport,” he wrote on Instagram. “Why do women still have to put up with that s**t? What questions did they ask Mbappe and Modric? I’d imagine something to do with football. And to everyone who thinks people are overreacting and it was just a joke… it wasn’t. I’ve been involved in the sport my whole life and the level of sexism is unreal.”
