"Another £50million"- Gary Lineker sends Chelsea cheeky Ben Chilwell transfer warning

Gary Lineker has sent Chelsea Ben Chilwell transfer warning amid speculation linking the Leicester City star with a move to Stamford Bridge. Chilwell is said to be on the radar of Chelsea, as well as Manchester City. He has been valued at £80million in some quarters. Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers last week admitted the club do not have full control over the England international's future but is persistent that the left-back is not thinking about life away from the King Power Stadium. Chilwell's goalscoring exploits received high praise from Match of the Day pundits Ian Wright and Alan Shearer. And Lineker chipped in to suggest that it might well have ramped up any potential transfer fee. "There's a bit of transfer speculation around Chilwell as well," he said. "That's probably put his price up by another £50million, I would say!" Asked about the goal himself, Chilwell told Match of the Day: "The gaffer and the players are always telling me, in those positions, to shoot. I was just concentrating on trying to get a clean strike on it and hitting the target." He added: "I think in the second half, we were pretty dominant. The last five minutes, we knew their strengths and we knew they were going to try to throw the ball or cross the ball into the box. We were under the cosh for the last five minutes but I for the rest of the half, I think we dominated. I think we looked the fitter of the two teams and we were disappointed with the goal at the end. We'll take a point but it would have been better with three." Addressing the Chilwell situation ahead of the Watford game, Rodgers said: “I've been in it long enough to understand the game and where it's at for players. All you can ever do is create an environment where players will feel they can improve and develop, and enjoy their football. But I also recognise players may well look beyond Leicester City. But, I've never felt that with Ben. He's a huge talent and for me he can be one of the world's best left-backs. He's understanding here what it takes every single day, not just on a game day, and what it takes to be an elite player in terms of lifestyle and professionalism. I can only see him getting better. “He can get that here at Leicester, of course. I think he's shown that, particularly this season. I can say that but of course players and agents may well have other ambitions for players. That's not something you can always control.” Source: LeicesterMercury
