Barcelona will join the ranks of top European clubs seeking a new head coach this summer, as Xavi announced his departure following the team's disappointing defeat to Villarreal.
Among the potential successors, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who previously spent time at Barcelona's La Masia academy, has emerged as a leading candidate.
Despite previous links to the Barcelona job, Arteta remained non-committal about his future plans, emphasizing his satisfaction at the Emirates Stadium while acknowledging the impressive work of Xavi.
"What I can say is that I am extremely happy and proud to be where I am," Arteta said, via Express UK.
"Barcelona, now, they are in a really good path now, with a phenomenal coach, a coach that has been an absolute legend in that club and has lifted the whole place. You have to be very respectful of that," he added.
