Arsenal chasing Max Mayer to play alongside Mesut Ozil

Schalke midfielder Max Meyer. is out of contract at the end of the season and after Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud decided to leave Arsenal in January, Wenger is looking to add more attacking options to his squad. Now Arsenal have been given fresh hope in their bid to sign the 22-year-old as the German talent is out of contract in the summer and available in a cut-price. However, Wenger will most likely face a competition from Liverpool for his target as the Reds are also monitoring the German’s situation. Despite Meyer’s young age, he’s already boasts plenty of experience having represented Germany 58 times in total at youth level – including six times at the 2016 Olympics – before making his senior debut in 2014.
