Atlanta United striker Miguel Almiron, 24, who has been in fine form for MLS outfit so far this season, with 12 goals and 13 assists in 32 appearances, is on the Arsenal’s radar.
According to FOX Deportes USA, the north London outfit have shown an interest in Almiron and had arranged to pay €13million (£11m) for him in the winter transfer window.
However, Atalanta United president Darren Eales has revealed, that Unai Emery’s side will have to increase that offer significantly if they want to sign the Paraguayan playmaker.
Arsenal will have to make on offer in the region of £30m.
"So there were two clues as to why that was total nonsense: One was Eagles, not Eales," Eales told The Game - as reported by the Metro.
"And the other was the suggestion of £11 million because it would have to take at least triple that for me to even get out of bed and think about any bids for Almiron."
However, according to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Leicester City could challenge Unai Emery's side in the battle to sign Almiron once the transfer window reopens.
