Arsenal have entered the international break after a difficult start having had two successive wins in the Premier League.
Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts has rated players so far for their performances. So now you can find out who has struggledto make their mark under the club’s new head coach.
Petr Cech – 5
Cech has made some fine saves over the first four games - especially against Manchester City and Chelsea, but he has really struggled to adapt to Emery’s style of playing.
Hector Bellerin – 6
Bellerin has come in for some criticism for his defending. In an attacking sense, Bellerin has proved to be a good outlet for Arsenal and he’s already picked up two assists in the first four Premier League games.
Stephan Lichtsteiner – 5
We’ve only seen the experienced right-back once so far, when he was introduced as a first half substitute against Manchester City as a make shift left-back but according to Watts, Lichtsteiner will be a valuable addition to the squad.
Sokratis – 7
Sokratis has had a quietly impressive start in north London. The Greek defender reads the game very well and his positioning has been excellent so far.
Shkodran Mustafi – 6
There have been a few errors, but on the whole Mustafi has kept things simple and he scored his first goal of the season in the win at Cardiff.
Nacho Monreal – 6
The dependable Spaniard missed the opening day defeat against Manchester City but has started the following three games. He scored the vital equaliser against West Ham.
Matteo Guendouzi – 8
The young France midfielder has been superb in the games against Manchester City and Chelsea. The 19-year-old clearly has huge future and has started all four games so far.
Granit Xhaka – 5
He’s clearly an important part of Emery’s plans, but so far his opening performances have been far from convincing.
Aaron Ramsey – 6
No goals yet for Ramsey this season and he was left out of the starting XI by Emery for the game at Chelsea.
Lucas Torreira – 7
His second half cameo at Cardiff was exceptional and was another example of why Emery needs to get him into the starting XI.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles N/A
The youngster lasted just 35 minutes on the opening day before fracturing his left fibula in a challenge with Manchester City’s Kyle Walker. Maitland-Niles will not be back until November.
Alex Iwobi – 6
The Nigerian international was excellent in the win at Chelsea, scoring one goal and setting up another. Iwobi was rewarded with another start against West Ham though he wasn’t good enough and was replaced at half-time.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 6
Like Iwobi, Mkhitaryan picked up a goal and an assist against Chelsea. But he was left out of the starting XI against Cardiff at the weekend and it could be the Armenia international that suffers if Alexandre Lacazette is brought into the starting XI permanently by Emery after the international break.
Mkhitaryan has shown his quality at times, but Arsenal do need more from him at times.
Mesut Ozil – 5
It’s been a real struggle for Ozil in the opening weeks of the season. The German was left out of the squad against West Ham due to illness. He returned against Cardiff and showed that Emery canl hope to see much more of after the international break.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 6
Aubameyang had a slow start but then h found his goalscoring touch in the win against Cardiff.
Arsenal need Aubameyang to score on a regular basis and will hope his goal at Cardiff is just the start.
Alexandre Lacazette – 8
Despite only starting one game, Lacazette has been one of the right spots of Arsenal’s season. He made a big difference when he came on against Manchester City and West Ham, in fact the striker was a key reason for the fightback against the Hammers. And then he was superb when given his first start at Cardiff, scoring and producing a man of the match performance.
Danny Welbeck – 6
The England international has only played for a total of 22 minutes during substitute appearances against West Ham and Cardiff but he’s already helped himself to one goal.
