Arsenal have officially issued an update on a number of inured players ahead of their clash against Leicester City after the international break.
Mesut Ozil, who set out the 5-1 win over Fulham last weekend is set to return to action from a back injury.
Highly-rated central midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles has returned to full training after suffering a small fracture to left fibula in the defeat against Manchester City. It’s likely he will be eased back into action in the Carabao Cup clash against Blackpool at the end of the month.
Petr Cech is also due to come back from injury. The goalkeeper was ruled out for up to a month with a hamstring injury. But he is already making good progress. According to the club’s update, Cech is being assessed ahead of the Leicester game.
Danny Welbeck is also suffering from a hamstring problem which has caused him to withdraw from the England squad.
This injury update concludes with young defender Konstantinos Mavropanos due back in training within the next three weeks, while club captain Laurent Koscielny won’t be far behind.
