According to Ben Jacobs, Arsenal may be open to receiving offers for Thomas Partey in the summer, given his contract situation. In an exclusive interview with CaughtOffside, the journalist mentioned that Mikel Arteta's side are eyeing potential midfield replacements.
"I don’t think it’s a surprise, despite many links of a move away, Partey stayed after Granit Xhaka left. But the summer may be a different story. Partey’s contract expires in summer 2025, so it’s natural Arsenal might now entertain offers," said Jacobs via CaughtOffSide.
One of the targets is Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi. Additionally, Jacobs identified two Premier League players as potential options – Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa and Amadou Onana from Everton.
Although Partey has performed well for Arsenal, injuries have been a recurring issue, particularly this season, limiting his playing time. If the Ghanaian midfielder were to depart, Arsenal fans might welcome the arrival of Luiz, Onana, or Zubimendi. However, securing any of these players may pose its own set of challenges.
The London club are still keen on Zubimendi, with a potential €50 million transfer fee considered, though the player remains content at Sociedad for now. While Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa is also considered, the Brazilian midfielder's future may be influenced by Villa's Champions League qualification, and there is genuine interest in Everton's Amadou Onana despite no formal offer in January.
