Bundesliga club Schalke have confirmed that midfielder Max Meyer will be free agent in the summer. Player has rejected a new contract.
“Max Meyer will definitely leave Schalke in the summer. Max Mayer will be treated fairly until the final matchday,” Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel said at a press conference.
22-year-old has been capped four times by world champions Germany. This season is already the player’s sixth with the first team, and he has featured in 146 Bundesliga games.
The midfielder has been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool. Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat was spotted at Schalke home game and was said to be watching Meyer.
