Almost everyone were furious on Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's decision when yesterday’s match against Atlketico Madrid started with Mkhitaryan on bench.
The Armenian missed the Europa League semi-final first leg because of knee injury but managed to return to start against former club Manchester United on Sunday and even conceded a goal.
However, manager Arsene Wenger decided to stick with Danny Welbeck against Europa League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid and leave Mkhitaryan waiting on bench.
After 1-0 loss which saw Arsenal get knocked out of the competition, Wenger explained his decision.
"The only way to score is with the handbrake off and follow through everything we do.
We need strikers tonight and I believe everybody will have a part to play, where the big players are concerned."
Wenger has chosen an unchanged XI from the side that faced Atletico last week.
Arsenal XI: Ospina, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Xhaka, Wilshere, Ramsey, Welbeck, Ozil, Lacazette.
