Arsene Wenger provides injury update on Henrikh Mkhitaryan ahead of Atletico Madrid match

Arsenal will face Atletico Madrid in the Europa League second leg on Thursday. Manager Arsene Wenger has referred to midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and admitted that he is on doubt for Arsenal’s trip to Atletico Madrid because of knee problem. The Armenia international scored Arsenal’s equalising goal in their 2-1 loss to Manchester United on Sunday before Marouane Fellaini came off the bench to clinch the three points for Jose Mourinho’s men. Mkhitaryan was in good form against his former club Manchester United until the 76th minute when he suffered a knock to his knee. Speaking at his post-match news conference, Wenger said: “I took off Mkhitaryan because he had a little knock on his knee again, on the same knee – we could see that just looking at him in the dressing room. Gunners had a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in the first leg match of the semi-final tie in London last week.

Zinedine Zidane claims his future ‘doesn’t depend on winning Champions League’
