Arteta gets criticized for being too "stubborn" and not signing "begging" candidates

Piers Morgan has criticized Mikel Arteta for being too "stubborn" and not signing the striker who's "begging" to be signed by a big club.

The Gunners, like other big clubs in the Premier League, are in need of a high-performing striker. Despite the vital gaps in the squad, Morgan notes that the Arsenal boss has not made any progress in signing a player in the target position, such as Ivan Toney, 2 weeks into the transfer window.

Arsenal have experienced a dip in recent performance, with Arteta's team frequently controlling matches in possession and chances generated. However, the squad has been plagued by poor finishing from key players.

While Toney would be an excellent addition for Arsenal if they can secure the deal, the absence of a clinical finisher is evident, though acquiring such players often comes with a significant cost.

There are on-going speculations about Toney's future. While some sources claim that the player will stay at Brentford after returning from his ban, others claim that the player would like to join a big club in the top flight.
