AS: Liverpool face competition for Bundesliga man; he could demand over £10.9m a season

Liverpool are reportedly in rush for Bayern Muncih defender David Alaba, according to Spanish outlet AS. The 28-year-old has failed to renew his current contract that expires in the summer of 2021. It means he could make a move to another team in January if no new deal is agreed by then. The report claims that the Austrian professional was asking €12 million (£10.9 million) a season in order to sign a new contract, while he is likely to ask for more salary for his services should he join another team. Liverpool face competition from Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus for the defender's transfer. Alaba has made 395 appearances for the Germany champions, since emerging from their academy. He has won two Champions Leagues, nine Bundesliga titles and one FIFA Club World Cup crown with the club.
