Jack Grealish could miss another three matches to take his injury absence to 12 successive games.
The Aston Villa captain has been sidelined since suffering a shin injury during a training session before Villa’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester City on February 21.
Head coach Dean Smith confirmed at Friday’s press conference that the 25-year-old will miss Sunday’s clash against West Bromwich Albion at Villa Park.
"There's not really a timeline (on his injury) as such,” said Smith.
“He's due to have a scan next week. Hopefully that clears it up and we go full board with training.
“We'll be guided by the time and the medical practitioners. I have no doubts he'll be OK for the Euros."
According to
the Telegraph Villa fear he will miss the games against Everton and Manchester United as well as Albion in a further blow for Smith's side.
That means the trip to Crystal Palace, currently planned for May 11, could be seen as a realistic return date.
