A Tottenham fan has been arrested for throwing a banana skin at Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates Stadium today.
Arsenal beat Spurs 4-2 in the first North London Derby of the season, with Aubameyang one of the stars of the afternoon as he bagged a brace.
The Football Association confirmed they will launching an investigation into the incident. Police later confirmed they would investigate whether the banana-throwing was racially motivated.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has had his say this morning and took to social media, posting a picture of the incident with the message '#whysmandoingthis?'.
He also posted a banana emoji.
Fans were quick to support him with one saying: "Huge respect for coming out fighting and not letting racist effect you. We love you Auba!"
