Barcelona to let midfielders 3 players leave in January

Barcelona consider letting Ivan Rakitic, Carles Alena and Riqui Puig leave the Camp Nou in January, according to Sport. This trio have been rarely used by Blaugranas’ boss Ernesto Valverde, as he prefers Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong and Arthur in the midfield.  Both Arturo Vidal and Sergi Roberto are also ahead of them in the order. Rakitic has played for 197 minutes, while Alena only has for 45. Puig has been playing in Barca B and has not given a chance to play at the first-team. The Croatian international wanted to stay at Barcelona, but as he is not given sufficient time, he considers leaving. He has been heavily linked with moves to Inter Milan, AC Milan, Manchester United and also Paris Saint-Germain. The 31-year-old would prefer moving to Italy or France over a switch to Old Trafford in January. Tottenham and Real Betis are both interested to sign Alena on loan, while Puig could stay if they both leave.
