Barcelona are expected to get rid of Luis Suarez this summer as the Uruguayan superstar is going into the final year of his current contract next season.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants have determined four players as possible replacements for Suarez, among them are Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe and Lautaro Martinez.
Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino’s name was erased from that list as he’s just four years younger than Suarez and due to the Philippe Coutinho clause, according to which Barcelona cannot sign any Liverpool player for three years since 2018.
Paris Saint-Germain's’ Kylian Mbappe is set to be the biggest target for the Catalans and will also be the most expensive one as valued over €200 million.
Rashford could be another replacement for the 32-year-old striker but the problem here is his wages. At Manchester United, he gets paid £200,000-a-week after signing a new four-year deal this summer.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane may be interested in moving to Barcelona, but Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy might increase the fee which could put off La Liga champions.
The effortless signing for Blaugranas would be Martinez, who scored six goals in his 10 Inter Milan appearances. But the issue here would be that Martinez isn’t the star Barcelona fans are hoping for.
Suarez moved to Barcelona from Liverpool for £65 million in 2014. He had an incredible career at Nou Camp having scored 183 goals in his 255 appearances and won 4 La Liga titles, 4 Copa del Reys and a Champions League.
