Basic information of Arsenal’s first 2018/19 Europa League opponents

According to Europa League draw Arsenal will face Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Portugal. The Gunners will start their campaign against FC Vorskla Poltava at the Emirates, before then facing back-to-back away games against Qarabag and Sporting Lisbon. Arsenal will be back in the Europa League action later this month after missing out on a Champions League place in May. Vorskla were established as Kolos in 1955. They fell into bankruptcy in 1982, but were reformed two years later based on the Kolos academy. They are nicknamed the Green-Whites and their biggest success came in 2009 when they won the Ukrainian Cup. Their team is made up of many Ukrainian players, but they boast Brazilians stars Artur and Nicolas Careca, who are on loan from Gremio. This is the second time they have reached the main draw of the competition, finishing bottom of Group B in the 2011-12 season. New head coach Unai Emery will be hoping to use his Europa League winning experience to guide his team to victory this term.
