Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly told Chelsea they will not budge on their valuation of Kai Havertz, despite admitting the midfielder wants to leave this summer. Havertz is top of Frank Lampard’s wishlist.
Chelsea chiefs had hoped his £90million valuation would fall after Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro revealed that Havertz had asked for a move.
"It was always clear that we will have talks once the Europa League season concluded," Leverkusen chief Carro told Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger. "Kai has voiced his desire to make the next step. At the moment, I can’t say whether this will work out in the near future or not."
However, the Bundesliga outfit have made it generously clear in talks between the two parties that they will not be reducing his price tag, according to the Evening Standard.
Chelsea will have hoped to keep his value down somewhat, particularly as they hope to land Ben Chilwell as well this summer. With Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech costing a combined £80m.
