Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that they want to extend a deal with Niklas Sule. Chelsea are keen on a deal for the Sule, as Thiago Silva is yet to extend his deal and AC Milan are interested in Fikayo Tomori. In recent months, the Blues have been heavily linked with moves for out-of-contract Bayern defender David Alaba and Dayot Upamecano of RB Leipzig. However, their hopes of signing the latter were ended last week after it was confirmed that he would join Bayern this summer. Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has pinpointed Sule as the ideal candidate to bolster his defensive options. The defender's current deal expires in the summer of 2022. “We want the good German national players at FC Bayern,” said Rummenigge, as quoted by Spox. “Niklas still has one year of contract. We will hold talks and see where they lead. We will look at it seriously and calmly until the summer. Corona [coronavirus] has also caused financial damage to FC Bayern. If we find a solution, we are generally happy to extend the contract, but that will only be possible under certain conditions.”
