Bayern Munich are targeting Arsenal prospect Xavier Amaechi as the Bundesliga club have a long-standing admiration of the 18-year-old.
Amaechi, whose season was disrupted by a metatarsal injury from which he returned last month, has scored three goals and provided five assists in eight Premier League 2 matches this season.
Arsenal handed Amaechi a professional contract at the earliest possible moment, on his 17th birthday, with his current terms tying him to the Gunners until 2022. However, Bayern Munich keep tabs on the wonderkid and expect to monitor his transfer.
Earlier the Bundesliga champions were interested in Chelsea talented player Callum Hudson-Odoi but the Blues refused to give him away and now the Bavarians have turned their attention to Amaechi.
It is as yet unclear whether Bayern intend to revive their interest in the summer, when Hudson-Odoi will be entering the final 12 months of his contract. He is currently expected to reject an offer of an extension without guaranteed first-team prospects.
Hudson-Odoi and Amaechi are viewed by some within youth football as the most likely prospects to replicate Sancho's explosive form in the Bundesliga.
