Arsenal experienced goalkeeper Petr Cech has sustained a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win over Watford at the weekend and is set to be sidelined for at least two weeks.
I fact he could be back in time for the visit of Leicester City on October 22.
Cech’s injury could be a majour boost for Arsenal second choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno, who joined the Gunners in the summer. Leno will receive a chance to impress in the games against Qarabag in the Europa League and Fulham.
"Now Petr is injured - I don't know how long for - I have the opportunity to play more games and show the coach my quality," he told reporters.
"It is a big chance for me. I don't want to say it wrong that I am happy for Petr to be injured. I think always it is a bad feeling, so I feel sorry for him.
"But, now I have more opportunities to play and I will concentrate on the games."
It’s certainly a big chance for Leno to show he is ready to be number one. His inclusion should allow Arsenal to build out from the back more smoothly.
