Antonio Valencia is set to end his 10-year spell at Manchester United at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and his representatives have already started negotiations with Inter Milan after being made aware that Old Trafford club have no further plans on the captain.
But United do not want to sell him immediately as they have no proper replacement for the player currently.
Valencia, a £16million signing from Wigan in the summer of 2009, has reinvented himself as a right-back in recent years after starting his career as a winger.
