According to air accident investigators, a body has been recovered from the wreckage of the plane that was carrying Emiliano Sala.
The plane that disappeared from radar on January 21, has been discovered at the bottom of the English Channel.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch revealed a statement after a body was found.
‘The body is currently being taken to Portland to be passed into the care of the Dorset Coroner,’ a statement read.
The AAIB also confirmed attempts to recover the wreckage were abandoned due to bad weather conditions, and their recovery mission was now over.
Sala was signed by Premier League side Cardiff City in January for a club record fee of £15million, before the Argentine striker and his pilot went missing. The 28-year-old was on his way back to Cardiff from Nantes after saying his goodbyes to his old team-mates in France.
