Liverpool defender Joel Matip is set to miss the rest of the season with a thigh injury.

The Reds have confirmed that Matip needs surgery on the injury he sustained in the 2-1 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

If he does go under the knife, it will end his involvement in the remainder of the 2017-18 campaign.
