Napoli head coach Carlo Ancelotti has revealed a story from 2017, when he was Bayern Munich coach.
Italian coach says he tried to sign former RB Leipzig star Naby Keita. Guinea international agreed terms with Liverpool in summer of 2017, but moved to Merseyside only a year later.
Ancelotti worked in German club only one full season. He was sacked in autumn of 2017 because of bad results in Champions League and domestic league.
"I wanted to sign him at Bayern Munich and Rummenigge said I could meet him here in Naples,” Ancelotti told

“He was incredible at Leipzig. In Liverpool, he has highs and lows.”
Liverpool and Napoli were included in the same Champions League group this season. In the final group stage match, Reds managed to beat Italian club at Anfield to qualify for Round of 16. Napoli will play in Europa League.
