Celtic set to face Copenhagen on Thursday night in their Europa League last-32 tie.
In the first leg, game ended with a 1-1 draw at Copenhagen.
Should Neil Lennon’s side progress into the last 16 then it will guarantee Scotland 13
th place in UEFA’s coefficient rankings.
Rangers, meanwhile, beat Braga 1-0. Thus, they establish themselves as Champions League side.
The pathway into the group stage of next year’s Champions League could be much easier of a higher coefficient ranking which would take effect in 2021/22.
It means the Scottish champions will automatically enter into the third and final round of the Champions League qualification while the runner-ups will begin at the second round.
