Arsenal star Nacho Monreal’s contract is set to expire in the summer and the Gunners have decided to make a decision over his future.
Mundo Deportivo (via
Sport Witness ) claim that Ernesto Valverde is not happy with the left-back situation at the Nou Camp with Jordi Alba the only recognised option at present so Monreal will be a suitable option for the club. The Spain international could do a very solid job for the reigning La Liga champions.
However, it would be a bitter blow for the Gunners to lose the fan-favourite defender they signed from Malaga.
Celtic’s Kieran Tierney would be the perfect man to step into Monreal’s boots in the Premier League.
Tierney has the quality to fulfil these duties for Emery’s Arsenal, and his arrival would represent a real statement of intent from the Gunners.
The 21-yer-old is an experienced winner , having already lifted three consecutive league titles with Celtic.
