Newcastle United have now been presented with the opportunity to sign Joao Felix this summer, due to Chelsea's decision not to pursue a permanent deal with him.
Despite the 23-year-old's desire to stay at Chelsea, finding a permanent suitor has proven challenging. However, there is a possibility of him being loaned out once again. Newcastle has been offered the chance to secure Felix's services for the 2023-24 season, while Paris Saint-Germain has also been given a similar opportunity.
Felix currently earns a weekly salary of approximately £200,000 at Atletico, with Chelsea covering his wages in full during his loan spell and also paying a £9 million loan fee for half a season. While the financial figures may not be ideal for Newcastle, they could potentially consider Felix as they prepare for their Champions League campaign.
Atletico Madrid's president revealed that Felix will not be remaining at Stamford Bridge, as new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has decided against acquiring him. Therefore, the Portugal international is set to return to Atletico Madrid, who are looking to offload him.
