Charlie Nicholas makes prediction for Tottenham - Ajax match
Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has spoken out on the upcoming Champions League and Europa League semifinals.
Tottenham Hotspur will host Ajax Amsterdam in London for the first leg of UCL semis.
Nicholas mentions the fact that Dutch side have a young squad, which, however, doesn’t fear of any rivals, and they have shown it against both Real Madrid and Juventus.
Nicholas has mentioned Dusan Tadic and Daley Blind as the most experienced players in this squad, who help youth to be confident in this level.
But overall, pundit says Spurs are favourites for the first leg, mentioning the qualities of players like Lucas Moura, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.
“Tottenham, on their day, with the pace of Lucas Moura, alongside the skill of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli, are guaranteed to score. I feel Ajax will play and open up the game, Spurs could afford to let Manchester City come onto them, but they will see more possession here. I see Tottenham securing the first-leg advantage ahead of next week's return in Amsterdam.” Nicholas wrote for Sky Sports.
Pundit also predicted the score: 2-1, Tottenham win.
Mauricio Pochettino has earlier given press-conference and has spoken out on players’ fitness and expectations from the match.
As reported earlier, Moussa Sissoko will reportedly be ready to start in the center of midfield as French international will solve a big headache for his coach.
