Chelsea could abandon left-back transfer plan after new target's low asking price revealed

Chelsea could sign another Ajax star this summer and abandon their left-back plans after the Dutch club reportedly valued Nicolas Tagliafico at just £22.4m. The Argentine is cheaper than previous targets- Ben Chilwell of Leicester City and Alex Telles from Porto. Frank Lampard's squad in need for defensive reinforcements. Emerson Palmieri has been linked with a move to Juventus of ex-Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, while Marcos Alonso has emerged as a target for another ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who is currently at Inter Milan. Both Chilwell and Telles have been targeted by the Blues, however, the Foxes are assumed to demand £80m for Chilwell, while Telles has a release clause of £35.8m, but according to some reports, Porto are willing to let him go for £26.8m. But, according to Mundo Deportivo, Ajax have valued Tagliafico at just £22.4m. Therefore, Chelsea could make a move for him.
