France National team boss Didier Deschamps has revealed Chelsea star N'Golo Kante was pulled out of France's squad for a 1-0 victory over Iceland as a precaution.
Kante handed Frank Lampard a fresh injury worry by limping off with a groin problem in the warm-up ahead of France's EURO 2020 qualifier.
The 28-year-old has only featured in four of Chelsea's eight Premier League fixtures.
"He felt a pain in the adductor muscle," said the France boss after the match. "He had a feeling where he did not feel comfortable to play. I made the decision [to pull him from the squad] because maybe it could get even worse. I knew Moussa would be ready."
Asked whether Kante would play against Turkey, Deschamps said: "
I do not think it’s too serious for NG [Kante], but I do not have an answer tonight."
