Chelsea have opened discussions with Real Madrid over a deal for Achraf Hakimi, according to the Mirror.
The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Hakimi usually plays at right-back but the Morocco international is also capable of playing on the opposite flank.
Chelsea have now made an approach to Madrid about a potential deal for Hakimi, however, the Spanish club are not willing to sell the defender until the season is completed.
Hakimi, meanwhile, admits his future is uncertain as Dortmund do not have a compulsory purchase option in their loan agreement with Madrid.
In an interview with El Chringuito earlier this week, Hakimi said:
"It was difficult to leave Real Madrid, but if you don’t have chances to participate, it’s good to be looking to play for more minutes. I’d like to keep playing. I am young and I would be happy if I continued to participate in Real Madrid. I have not received any call from Real Madrid since my departure."
