Chelsea are focussing all of their time into trying to agree a deal for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz. However, an agreement has come to light which may hand the Blues a new blow.
Havertz told club bosses he wants to leave the Bundesliga side. Bayer Leverkusen have failed to qualify for the Champions League, while Havertz wants to play at the highest level.
Leverkusen's stance was that a transfer could only be complete once their Europa League campaign came to an end. And last week they were dumped out of the European tournament with a 2-1 quarter-final defeat against Inter Milan.
That has opened the door for Chelsea to move for Havertz. However, according to Sky Sports, there is an agreement in place which could see the midfielder delay any transfer for 12 months.
Bayern have put a £90million price tag on the head of the Germany international, while the Blues want to pay only £70million. And if Chelsea do not pay a total of £90million, then Havertz will stay in Germany until next summer.
