Chelsea have officially contacted Brentford over signing winger Said Benrahma, according to La Gazette du Fennec. Frank Lampard's side have approached the 24-year-old, with suggestions he is one of their transfer priorities. Benrahma dubbed 'the Algerian Messi'.
The Blues hope they can seal a deal for around €30-35m. Earlier this campaign, Benrahma admitted that his dream was to play in the Premier League.
“I am very focused on Brentford," he is quoted as saying by website thisislocalondon.co.uk. "At the moment, we keep winning and we are in a great position in the league."
He added: "
My ambition is to play in the Premier League. But at the moment, I will continue and progress playing my football at Brentford."
Benrahma has ten goals and eight assists in 34 Championship appearances this season. Brentford only paid £1.7 million for Benrahma back in the summer of 2018.
