Chelsea player Jamie Cumming signs new contract

Chelsea kid Jamie Cumming has signed a new five-year deal with the Blues. The goalkeeper joined the club when he was eight and will be Frank Lampard’s third-choice shot-stopper in the 2019/20 season. He told the club's website: "It’s brilliant news, a very proud moment for me and my family. I’ve been here since the age of eight so to sign a new contract that keeps me here until I’m 23 is a great achievement. I’m now really looking forward to the new season. It’s a great time for young players at Chelsea. We have a manager who is willing to put his trust in young players if they deliver and it’s been brilliant for me personally to get some minutes in pre-season. "The Reading game was a great experience because it was probably the most people I’ve ever played in front of and for the manager to put his trust in me was a massive positive. Playing in front of the Chelsea fans for the first time was brilliant. We started well in pre-season and there have been lots of positives from each game but lots of things to work on as well and that’s what pre-season is for."
