Chelsea press conference: Thomas Tuchel provides injury news, speaks out the new CL format, Eden Hazard and more

Chelsea are preparing to face Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals first leg on Tuesday. The Blues reached the semi-finals after having celebrated a 2-1 on aggregate win over Porto. While Real reached the semis after having celebrated a 3-1 on aggregate win over Liverpool. Ahead of the clash with La Liga side, the Blues manager Thomas Tuchel gave a press conference where he provided injury news, spoke out on the new CL format, Eden Hazard and more. On injury news "The update on injuries is short, it is only Mateo Kovacic we are missing. Everybody else is available and in the squad tomorrow." On West Ham win "It is the best way to arrive in a CL match with a crucial win on our backs. It is a crucial experience we have in our luggage, it makes the bon strong and close. Tomorrow we need clearly a top level team performance." On whether he thought he might be in a Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid? "I am a pretty lucky guy, a lucky man, I am very grateful. When I started in academy football, every day was different, I enjoyed every day with the under 14s then 15s, 19s. This was already a big gift. " On new UCL format next season? 'I am not sure if I like it. It's very hard for me to be excited about. I am not happy about it, not at all." On how do you beat Zidane? "Be ourselves, that is the strategy. Rely on yourself, your strengths, and do the things that make you confident. Hopefully, we don't over-think and overdo it." On Eden Hazard's return "He is a top quality player and a key player for many years at this club and this league, the hardest in the world. So consistent. I have the biggest respect for him. He is a big player, we have many people here who know him well. "He was a key player for this club now he plays for Real Madrid. He is fit, had a comeback in the last game. If he plays, I am sure he wants to make a point. They can leave his spot open and only play with ten if they want!" Message to neutral English fans who might want to see you fail after the European Super League debacle? "Really? They want to see us fail against Real Madrid? We all made mistakes, if you own the club you can make decisions that not everybody understands or likes, it does not change the game. I love this game so much, as does everybody in the dressing room. We are so excited for tomorrow's semi final."   source - football.london / Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
