Chelsea receive boost as Premier League rivals eye potential replacement for Blues target in summer

Chelsea could potentially be handed a transfer boost as it’s reported Leicester City could pursue Ryan Bertrand amid talk of a move to Stamford Bridge for Ben Chilwell. According to Daily Mail, Leicester are bracing themselves for Chilwell’s departure to Chelsea next summer. Chelsea were considering bringing a move for Chilwell to January but their plans to strengthen at left-back have been delayed. Bertrand would represent an experienced, quality replacement for Chilwell, 23, whose Leicester contract runs until 2024. Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers was a youth coach at Chelsea during Bertrand’s time in their academy. Bertrand then spent a year on loan at Reading under Rodgers.
