Chelsea's managerial race narrows: Two coaches remain as one drops out

Despite meeting with Chelsea directors after being sacked by Bayern Munich, Julian Nagelsmann has ruled himself out of the running for the managerial role at Chelsea.

The German coach explained that he won't consider the Blues job, stating that "To cancel something, you have to commit to something."

Reports suggest that Nagelsmann felt the timing wasn't right for him, as he seeks a break from the game. Additionally, the former Bayern coach was dissatisfied with the way Chelsea was pursuing other managers and wanted a more direct appointment process

It is also reported by Tribal Football that Chelsea is willing to wait until summer before making their permanent appointment, but Nagelsmann is still resistant to accepting the job.

After Nagelsmann’s exit from the race, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany and former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino are among the coaches left for managerial role consideration. On Friday, Kompany was added as a surprise candidate to the list of contenders.
