Chelsea are actively searching for a top-notch goalkeeper in the upcoming months, and Valencia's Giorgi Mamardashvili is sitting at the top of their transfer wish list.
According to a report by 90 min, the Blues are keen on securing the services of another dependable goalkeeper, following the recent addition of Robert Sanchez from Brighton and Hove Albion during the summer transfer window.
This move occurred as Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga bid their farewells to Stamford Bridge. While the Spaniard is currently on loan at Real Madrid, it seems unlikely that he has a long-term future with the West Londoners and will likely be permanently transferred soon.
As things stand, Sanchez is the sole reliable goalkeeper under manager Mauricio Pochettino and Valencia's 22-year-old shot-stopper became an appealing prospect for Chelsea following his impressive performances.
Whether the Blues can successfully negotiate a deal with the La Liga club in the months ahead remains to be seen, however, a January transfer is unlikely, as Valencia won't part ways with a key player midway through the season.
